The Need for a Global Reformation

Changes over the course of man’s history have come about gradually, without attracting much attention. Nevertheless, they are significant and profound changes, and they have guided the course of history.

Wars have raged and empires have fallen, but this welding of the planet into a strange type of family is a brand new achievement. It heralds the coming of a different type of social environment altogether, once the present barricades have been leveled and we have learned what our stress causes are and new, peaceful ways to handle stress and to handle symptoms of anxiety.

There is no doubt that we are living in the most consequential and vital era in human history. Aside from the obvious, there is another phenomenon occurring right now, which was never even possible before modern technology. Our entire world is gradually separating into two distinctive groups.

On the one side we have those who believe force, theft, persecution and cruelty are the only rules to live by. On the converse side, those who know that such methods are outdated, and who are standing diligently for freedom, fairness and peace.

The calm side is largely the spiritual side; at any rate their attitude constitutes an approach to relieving stress/anxiety by the Buddhist meditation  (also called spiritual meditation) technique; whereas the aggressive side is definitely the opposite in both its ritual and its doctrine.

Caught in the middle of these gradually manifesting opposite forces, the more indecisive of humanity are feeling compelled to hurry up and take either one side or the other. In the 1940’s they saw a world tensed and anguished. They were thrown from the makeshift complacency of past decades, and are anxiously looking in all directions for some kind of guidance.

They are faced by the horrific spectacle of an entire planet writhing in terror, dripping with slaughter, festering with decay, riddled with injustice, cruelty, poverty and malnutrition.  All of this horror is their reward for ceaseless efforts in advancing science and technology, more efficient farming techniques, labor saving machinery, expedient transportation, international communication, and methods of deep breathing techniques, non violent stress relief, and other ways of coping with stress.

Despite all of these magnificent achievements and innovations for improving overall quality of life, the throne of mankind’s woe remains uncovered. The spirit of evolution seems to be playing a losing game. This once lovely world is now under threat of imminent moral and economic collapse.

The rhythm of life has been sped up to a tempo that few can keep up with; these facts should by now be self-evident. They are urgent, and the horrifying comprehension is running through all grades of society. People are beginning to understand that immediate and drastic action must be undergone. This is not to win one more war. This is to root our civilization upon a new and more stable foundation.

Our desperate need is finally being realized by all, and mankind is ready to admit his failure as guardian of the planet. The crucial instance is drawing near when the whole world will realize this, rather than just a handful of enlightened minds.  We just need a sound blueprint for the creation of a new world.
